Halloween fishing was scary today. ONLY due to the fact I only caught five bass today. I did miss a lot of them and lost a couple also. ALL the bass were caught using the same bait…more to follow on this!
As I fish the Dora Canal, I see many different boats and people:
CraigCat Tours seems to go by me every day… sure looks like fun! You get to drive your own HIGH PERFORMANCE boat on two hour guided tour from Mt. Dora across Lake Dora and up the Dora Canal to Lake Eustis and then back to Mt. Dora. I would love to do this!
There was also a steam driven boat go by me…
I left the marina right around 8:30 this morning and headed up the canal toward Lake Eustis. I never get tired of the slow cruise up the Dora Canal. I could do it every day. In fact, I almost do!
My first cast this morning was with a watermelon seed trick worm right where the canal and Lake Eustis meet… This is what I got on my first cast of the day.
A few casts later…BOOM…I got this one. ALSO caught on my favorite bait…the trick worm!
I continued to fish almost the whole day and caught 13 bass, including these.
On the Patriot Ride…This is my 2008 Cheetah Trike, made by Cheetah Trikes in Charlestown, Indiana. Want one? They can be reached at 812-256-9199…Have a Cheetah built for you.
I ride my trike, fish for bass and, of course, play shuffleboard. That’s what I do in Florida, since I retired from Pa. DOC and sold my business back in 2010.
One of my passions is the Patriot Guard Riders. I have been a member for almost seven years. We attend funerals for our veterans at the National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. We stand for those that stood for us. We proudly stand a flag line for these heroes .
Tavares, Florida: I fish almost every day and can be reached at BigDawgFishing@yahoo.com. If you are in the area of Tavares or Eustis and want to try your luck on the Harris Chain of Lakes…EMAIL ME! We can probably figure out a way you can fish with me.
I am not a charter captain or a professional bass fisherman, but I do catch my fair share of bass. AND I really don’t like to fish by myself all the time. You will need to bring your own equipment, etc. I do not have extra… wish I did!
Here are a couple Bass I’ve caught somewhere in the beautiful Harris Chain of Lakes…
Dinger in green…
I will continue to add more photos of the Bass I catch on the Harris Chain of Lakes. I mostly fish Lake Dora, The Dora Canal, Lake Eustis, The Dead River and Big Lake Harris. I also fish many of the canals which abound… including Haynes Creek.
